marco-belli.com is run by Marco Belli, P.IVA IT04089790242, Via Cesare Battisti 25, Bassano del Grappa (VI), Italy, who is the data controller for everything below. If you’re not sure what that means: it’s the person you’d write to about any of this, and the contact at the bottom of this page reaches them.

Buying on this website

The shop runs on WordPress and WooCommerce. When you buy a product here we collect what’s needed to sell it to you and deliver your licence:

• Account and order details. Your name, email address, billing address, VAT number if you give one, the products you bought, and the order date and amount. We need these to complete the sale, issue an invoice and meet Italian tax and accounting rules.
• Your licence keys. Each paid order generates a licence key, linked to your order and shown in the My Orders area of your account.
• Login. If you create an account, your password is stored only in hashed form; we can’t read it.
• Payment. Card or PayPal details are entered directly with the payment provider Stripe or Paypal. We receive a confirmation that the payment went through, never your full card number.

We use these details to deliver what you bought, to support you and to send emails about your order. We don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve opted in.

What the scripts and plugins send

Some of our scripts and plugins check their licence with our own licensing server, hosted on marco-belli.com. Licence keys are generated by this website when you buy; no marketplace or third party is involved in the check. They contact it only for two things:

• Activation. The licence key, the product it belongs to, and an identifier of the installation (such as your computer name or a machine ID), so a licence can be limited to the number of activations it allows.
• Verification. Later checks send the same licence and installation identifier to confirm the activation is still valid.

Like any web server, ours also sees the IP address of each request. We log requests to protect the service from abuse (rate limiting) and to help you if an activation fails.

Templates (.aep projects without a licence check) don’t contact us at all.

What they do not send

Your After Effects projects, compositions, footage and rendered output never leave your computer. The licence check sends only the items listed above, never your work, your files or anything about how you use the product.

Who else touches this data

We share data only with the providers needed to run the shop, each processing it on our behalf or under its own privacy policy:

We don’t sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone else unless the law requires it. Some providers may process data outside the EU; where that happens, the transfer relies on safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

Why we’re allowed to use it

We process order, account and licence data because we need it to fulfil our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Invoices and accounting records are kept because Italian law requires it (Art. 6(1)(c)). Request logs and activation limits rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the licensing service secure and stopping licences being shared (Art. 6(1)(f)). Marketing emails, if any, rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long we keep things

• Invoices and order records: 10 years, as Italian accounting law requires.
• Account, licences and activations: as long as your account or licence is active, so you can reinstall and re-download. Deactivating an installation removes its activation record.
• Request logs: 30 days, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or give you a copy in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. Deleting licence data deactivates that licence; order records we must keep by law stay until their retention period ends. Write to the address below and we’ll reply within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
